Man Charged with Holding Girlfriend Against Her Will

Police on St. Thomas Sunday arrested 28-year-old Darion Brady and charged him with false imprisonment, kidnapping and third-degree assault/domestic violence for allegedly holding his girlfriend against her will and threatening her with a weapon.

The V.I. Police Department was notified of the case at 12:15 a.m. Sunday. According to the preliminary report, Brady and his girlfriend were in her car when they began arguing. During the argument Brady prevented the victim from getting out of the car and took her to another location. At one point Brady displayed a gun and told the victim that he would "use it" on her.

The victim was able to pass a note to a restaurant worker telling her that she was being held against her will and to call the police.

While the couple was parked at the Edward Wilmoth Blyden Marine Terminal they were approached by police. Upon inspection of the vehicle police discovered a black Daisy toy gun under the driver’s seat.

Brady was arrested and charged. Under the the Domestic Violence Law, he was denied bail.
