Global Yoga for Peace Day and Body, Mind, Spirit Fair Planned

Bliss Events is sponsoring of the Global Mala Yoga for Peace Day and Body, Mind, Spirit Fair from noon to 6 p.m. on Sept. 22, at Magens Bay Beach, Shed No. 3. Bliss Events was created by Jennie Alvarez and Laura Nagi for the purpose of bringing peace and healing to the Virgin Islands community through events, retreats and trainings.
The purpose of this event is to promote heath, wellness and peace in the community. It hopes to raise the community’s awareness of holistic healing modalities and the community practitioners who offer such services to promote health and wellness , as well as to promote peace through the practice of yoga. The Global Mala Yoga for Peace Day is part of an international grassroots effort to create Peace through Action. Yogis all around the globe will be participating in similar events on this date. Various yoga teachers from the V.I. community will lead participants in nine rounds of 12 sun salutations, for a total of 108 sun salutations for peace to the beats of live drumming and kirtan.
Proceeds from this event will benefit youth. The non-profit Ananda Nilayam Center for Conscious Living has created a program teaching youth in the Virgin Islands tools to promote peace in their lives and communities, including conflict resolution skills, yoga, meditation and breath work. Ananda Nilayam is currently teaching these skills to a group of girls participating in the Girl Power Kidscope Camp. Raising funds will allow us to share these important skills with more youth to promote more peace in the community.
The fair will be free for the community to attend and will be a wonderful opportunity for participants to promote and expose their business/service to the community. Please see the event schedule below and instructions for participation.
