2nd Annual Stand Up Paddle Board Race Fundraiser Set

The Friends of the St. Croix East End Marine Park has announced the second annual Stand Up Paddle for the St. Croix East End Marine Park, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the St. Croix Yacht Club. All proceeds from the event will be put directly toward achieving the mission of the St. Croix East End Marine Park, supporting and expanding existing park programs such as education and outreach and creating additional community activities.
The St. Croix East End Marine Park (STXEEMP) encompasses an area of approximately 60 nautical miles2 with 17 miles of shoreline and hosts a diverse variety of unique marine habitats and marine organisms. The mission of the STXEEMP is to manage these natural and cultural resources for current and future generations. The STXEEMP is managed by DPNR’s Division of Coastal Zone Management (CZM). Park programs include biological monitoring of park resources as well as a robust public outreach program that includes classroom presentations, bayside walking and snorkel tours and the mobile ECO-Van.
The Friends of the St. Croix East End Marine Park, a sponsored project of the St. Croix Foundation, was established to assist the park in fulfilling its mission of resource protection. The Friends is a membership based organization that supports the St. Croix East End Marine Park by volunteering time on park projects and/or by donating funds to achieve its mission of promoting the responsible enjoyment of this unique natural treasure, and providing a valuable link to the community.
The wealth of resources within the STXEEMP contributes to our quality of life by enriching our island’s culture, heritage, and economy. The marine park and its resources benefit St. Croix and the U.S.V.I. community, and they need everyone’s support.
With elite, open, relay, kid’s and fun parent kid races; the event is suitable for everyone. Please join in for raffle prizes, fun stand up paddle board races, ceremony and other fun activities.
