Someone fired at least 10 gunshots in the Ruby M. Rouss housing community on St. Croix at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the Police Department indicated in a press release issued Monday. Some of those gunshots pierced the wall at least one apartment and lodged in the headboard of a bed.
When police arrived at the scene, two tenants reported hearing several shots. When they checked on their families and outside the apartment they noticed bullet holes in the wall. Police checked the area and saw at least 10 bullet holes in the southern wall of building four and one in a metal light pole.
Police checked the surrounding areas for suspects but didn’t find anyone.
Residents of the Ruby M. Rouss housing community and nearby areas are encouraged to tell the police what they know about this reckless act.
