Three St. Thomas residents were arrested over the weekend on drunken driving charges, the Police Department indicated in a press release Monday.
Garry E. Garten, 51, of Sapphire Village; Leon Warrell, 70, of Hidden Valley; and Emanuel O’Neal, 67, of Estate Wintberg all failed field sobriety and breathalyzer tests, police said. All were charged with driving under the influence.
Garten was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said he was operating a vehicle on the Nicholas Friday Drive and was stopped at a traffic check point. Officers said they noticed signs of intoxication.
Warrell was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday. Police said he was involved in an auto accident on the Weymouth Highway while under the influence of alcohol. Warrell was also charged with negligent driving.
O’Neal was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday. Police said O’Neal was involved in an auto accident on Kumar Road while under the influence of alcohol. He was also also charged with negligent driving and driving without a license.
The suspects were given the option to post bail or be remanded to jail pending their advice of rights hearings.
