Three Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

Two men and one woman were recently arrested on St. Thomas in separate domestic violence cases, the Police Department indicated in a press release Monday. All were charged with aggravated assault and battery in connection with domestic violence as well as other charges.

Cecil Cohen, 29, was arrested after Cohen allegedly caused visible injuries to his girlfriend’s face when he slapped her about 12:45 a.m. Sunday in The Home Depot parking lot.

Janelle Jackson, 23, was arrested around 2 p.m. Friday. Police said Jackson cut her minor sister’s hand with a knife. She was also charged with resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.

Jose Raphael Munoz Reyes, 23, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. July 16. He was charged with two counts of burglary third degree, destruction of property, assault third degree, disturbance of the peace and domestic violence. Police said Reyes broke into his former girlfriend’s home in Lindbergh Bay, damaged her flat screen television and removed it from the home without her permission. They said he also went to her place of employment and threw a beer bottle at her.

All suspects were held without bail due to the domestic violence law, pending their advice of rights hearings.
