Crime Stoppers Needs Your Help

Crime Stoppers needs your help to solve the following crimes. If you know something, say something, as law enforcement cannot control crime without your help. Even the smallest bit of information may be just what law enforcement needs to solve these cases.

St. Croix: On June 27 just before 6 p.m., two armed black males attempted to rob The Pastry Hut in Estate Carlton. One of the men is about 6 feet tall and was wearing coveralls. The other was wearing black clothing. Although they attempted to open the register they were unsuccessful and got away with nothing.

St. John: On May 23 at 6:20 p.m., a woman in Hansen Bay was home alone when she heard her front door open and close. Although she tried to position herself to see the intruder, she was unable to do so. The intruder left before being seen.

St. Thomas: On Aug. 22, 2009, around 4:30 a.m., 31-year-old Jesse Smalls was shot and killed outside near Lexus Night Club of Coki Point Plaza. A female in the vicinity was struck by stray bullets, but she survived. Please report any information you have about this shooting, no matter how insignificant.

Please continue to help law enforcement identify and arrest these criminals by telling us what you know about these or any other crimes at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Your tips are completely anonymous, and the stateside operators speak several languages. If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a cash reward to be paid according to your instructions.

Crime Stoppers pays $500 for the recovery of an illegal weapon and 10 percent of the retail value of recovered drugs and stolen goods, up to $2,500. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.

To date Crime Stoppers has paid out $50,495 in cash rewards to 63 tipsters, an average of $801 per reward. Crime Stoppers is run entirely by volunteers; if you want to join in the fight against crime, please visit our website to learn how you can help.
