Joseph Lawrence Dies at Age 79

Joseph LawrenceJoseph Lawrence, known as "Te-son" or "Brother Lawrence,” of Estate Mt. Pleasant, died June 27 at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital. He was 79.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janette Cuffy Lawrence; mother, Materine Lawrence; father, Gabriel Lawrence, son, Frank Lawrence, and brother, Jonas “Shu-Shu” Lawrence.

He is survived by his daughters, Justina Lawrence, Monique Lawrence, Claricia Lawrence, Endlyne Lawrence, Veronica Lawrence and Michelle Lawrence; sons Joseph Lawrence Jr., Timothy Lawrence and Wallace Lawrence; grandchildren Renissa Richardson, Kyandra Richardson, Jaylon Lawrence-Blanchard, Jahnilah Lawrence, Brianna Lawrence, Rianna Francis-Lawrence, Alanna Lawrence, Initty Lawrence, Whitney Lawrence, Naji Lawrence and Sanya Lawrence; sister Anastasie Lawrence; nieces Ingrid Emmanuel and Joan Lawrence; nephews Vincent Lawrence, John Lawrence, Tracious Lawrence, Jones, Derick and Glenson Lawrence, Alexander Cuffy, Peter Latang and Thomas Atieore; special friends Eustace Prescott, Gilbert Matthew, Jane Felix, Brother Laurencin, Ruben Polydore, Casey Obeius, the Fountain of Life Prayer Group and members of St Ann’s Church, along with other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 17, at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Viewing will be held at 9 a.m. with the service following at 10. Burial will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of James Memorial Funeral Home, Inc.
