Junior anglers are eligible for a drawing called the “Catch in the Hat” award. All registered junior angler names will be placed in a hat. The first eight names drawn will receive $50 cash and the next one will win $100 dollars, for a total award of $500. Juniors must be present at Hull Bay Hideaway to win. The drawing will take place during the band break Sunday afternoon. There will also be face painting for the kid’s in the afternoon.

Entry forms are available at Neptune Fishing Supplies in Red Hook. A captain’s meeting and registration will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hull Bay Hideaway. Late registration will also be held from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hull Bay Hideaway.

Fishing will begin at 5:30 a.m. Sunday and ends at noon sharp. The weigh-in and party start at noon.

There will be food for sale throughout the afternoon provided by Jen’s Island Café and Deli. Cool Session will play from noon until 5 p.m. and C4 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Hull Bay Hideaway will serve a dinner menu of beef brisket, roast pork, rice and peas, potato salad, green salad, corn on the cob and roll. The awards ceremony will start at 8 p.m.

First organized by the Northside Sportfishing Club in 1987, the tournament has become one of the highlights of French Heritage Week’s July 8-14 festivities. The event benefits the Joseph Sibilly School, St. Thomas Rescue and Nana Baby Children’s Home, as well as provides college scholarships.
