U.S.V.I. Plays Jamaica in Davis Cup Competition

On Thursday, the Virgin Islands Davis Cup team played Jamaica. Captain Myrie-G reported that today’s scores are not indicative of the matches. Every one of these players left it all on the court.
Brian Oldfield our number one player played Brandon Burke. Brian played a solid match. Winning the first set 6-3, but lost the match 6-4, 4-6, 2-6. With Kris Elien not 100 percent, Nick Bass played in the number two position and lost to Dominic Pagon 0-6-1-6. However, as I previously stated the score is
not indicative of the quality of the match.
In the doubles match, Kris Elien and Ricky Plasket played against Dominic Pagon and Dwayne Pagon. The first set was tight going to a tie-breaker that the VI Team lost 3-7 and they lost the match 6-7, 0-6.
On Friday, the team will be off. Saturday, the team will play Trinidad/Tobago. The results of that match will dictate final placement.
