Magens Bay Water Safety Learn to Swim and Lifeguard Classes Slated

The summer session of the 2012 Magens Bay Water Safety Training Center’s Learn to Swim Program will begin on Saturday, June 30, and continue through July 28. Registration will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, at the lifeguard stand near shed No. 4.
The cost is $100 for ages 6 and over and $75 for ages 6 months to 5 years for the five weeks.
9:30 – 10 a.m. for 6 months – 5 years. Parent must accompany child in water.
10 – 10:45 a.m. for children ages 6 – 15 years advanced swimmers and all adults
10:45 – 11:30 a.m. for ages 6 – 15 years beginner swimmers.
Also, Magens Bay Water Safety Training Center will hold a lifeguarding class beginning on Saturday, June 30, and continuing through July 28. Candidates must be 15 years or older (proof of age required) by the completion of the class. They must also pass a swim pretest at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, in order to enroll in the class.
