Police Investigate Death on St. John

Police are investigating a man’s death that happened Thursday on St. John, according to the department. Police were called to the victim’s home around 2 p.m. that day, and found the man unresponsive.

Police said the man, who is a native of Haiti in his early forties, was found inside the Estate Pastory home by his roommate. The roommate told police he came home and was unable to get inside because the doors were locked, according to the department. After looking through the windows, he saw keys on the table, stuck a pole through the window and retrieved the keys. Once inside the home he found the victim unresponsive on the floor bleeding from the neck. A knife was nearby. He said he left the home and called the police.

The case is being actively investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Police said they are awaiting the Medical Examiners’ report which may reveal the manner of death.
