Two Arrested Following Burglary Surveillance in Peterborg

St. Thomas police arrested two suspects in a series of Estate Peterborg burglaries Tuesday, following at least two weeks of undercover surveillance, according to the V.I. Police Department. Arrested were Ishmell Sasso, 33, and Akeem Lettesome, 23.

After officers in the Intelligence Unit outlined burglary patterns in the area, police conducted surveillance on several suspicious vehicles in the area. After several days occupants of one of those vehicles were seen acting in a suspicious manner and looking through the windows of several residences, according to police.

Police set up a road block and stopped the vehicle as it was exiting the residential area. In the back seat of the vehicle, in plain view was a flat screen television. Gloves and a flashlight were also seen inside the vehicle by the officers, police said.

Sasso and Lettesome were detained for questioning then arrested around 1 p.m. Tuesday. Their bail was set at $50,000 each, which they did not post. They were incarcerated in the Bureau of Corrections pending their advice of rights hearing.
