Man Arrested for Pointing Gun at Girlfriend

Police arrested Jermaine Nathan Burke and charged him with domestic violence assault for allegedly pointing two guns in his girlfriend’s face, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The 41-year-old girlfriend told police that on May 17 she and Burke were involved in an argument at their home when the suspect pointed two handguns in her face and threatened her. The two then got into a physical altercation. The police were called and the suspect left the residence.

A short while later police interviewed the suspect outside the same residence. He told police he only had one firearm. Police confiscated the weapon and searched the area, finding two more loaded firearms hidden behind bushes in the immediate area.

The three firearms were taken into custody by forensic officers.

Burke was arrested a few minutes before 4 p.m. the same day. He was held without bail pending his advice of rights hearing.
