Police Make Two Arrests

St. Thomas detectives arrested Malakai George, 25, and charged him with first degree robbery for snatching a man’s chain off his neck.

Police arrested George shortly after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, after an investigation determined that George robbed a man in Anna’s Retreat. George was also charged with grand larceny and his bail was set at $75,000.

Also arrested Tuesday was Kayiel J. Sealey, 30, who was charged with assaulting his sister at home during an argument. According to the police report, Sealey was arguing with his nephew when his sister began asking questions about the dispute. While she was talking, Sealey punched her in the face several times, injuring her eyes, according to a VIPD news release. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Bail for Sealey was denied due to the nature of the crime.

Both suspects were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
