Second Domestic Violence Suspect Surrenders to Police

The second suspect wanted in a recent domestic violence case, Karl Christian-Browne, surrendered himself to police at about 11 a.m. Wednesday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Christian-Browne was charged with aggravated assault and battery domestic violence and assault second-degree domestic violence. Police said he strangled, punched and pushed the mother of his child.

Police issued a wanted poster on Christian-Browne Monday after searching for him for several weeks. Police urged him to turn himself in and warned family members who may be assisting him evade police that they may face criminal charges.

Domestic Violence supervisor Sgt. Deborah Jack said suspects don’t like it when their picture is put in the paper.

"It’s embarrassing to them and their family. Once the photo is posted they usually get pressure from their family to turn themselves in," Jackson said.

Christian-Browne was one of two men whom St. Croix police issued a wanted poster for this week. Sovive Mistick Clarke was arrested Tuesday after he attended a court hearing on a temporary restraining order. The men were wanted on separate domestic violence cases.
