Phillip Turbe, better known as "Beal” or “Baker," died on Sept. 4. Funeral arrangement will be done by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
He is survived by daughters: Sharon, Karen, Mildred and Ann Turbe-Greaux; sons: Gavin Turbe; adopted sons: Alford Rhymer and Robert Petersen; special friend: Ina Sylvester; brothers: John “Pipe” Turbe and Paul “Mouth” Turbe; sisters: Peola and Sylvanie Turbe; sister-in-law: Lestelle and Lucina Turbe; brother-in-law: Ivan Vante; son-in-law: St. Clair Desilia; daughter-in-law: Judy Turbe; and grandchildren: Gavinque, John Jr., Jermaine, Michael, Mark, Jasmine, Monique Turbe Mitzi Fisackerly, Melyssa and Dwight AuBain, Monica Greaux, Antoinette and Shennice Joseph, Khaleed, Khamal, Khamry, Khadeem abd Khanoi DeSilvia, Anthony and Sherina Turbe, Kori Vailet, Elvin Fahier Jr., Sheku, Sean, Kuron, Clint, Jarrod, Normon, Tonya, Tashara, Sharnarma, Frederick, Shenika, Rozzette and Joanne Turbe, Jamal Smith and Monti Gonzalez;
He is also survived by nieces: Michelle Turbe Garrity, Lisa Turbe Lewis, Barbara Greaux, Marie Turbe, Lorraine Turbe Lynch, Patricia Turbe, Donna Turbe Graux, Shelly Mae Turbe Thomas, Julie Harrigan, Deloise Turbe Magras, Coreen and Rosie Danet; nephews: Glen and Dexter Moore, Ray Hodge, Peter and Joseph Harrigan, Frankie, Ralph and John “Johnny” Turbe; and cousins: Louis “Sheep,” Rene and Louise Simeon, Jean Turbe and David Turbe.
Other survivors include many other relatives and friends: the Turnbull, Rhymer, Pont, Aubain, Boschulte, Gifft, Chinnery, Francis, Hall, Horton, Martin, Magras, Harthman, Danet, Joseph, Heyliger Quetel, Robinson, Petersen, Gomez, Gumbs, Garrity, Torres, Callwood, Humphrey, Frazer, Olive, Ledee, Grant, Potter, Blyden and George families, Molly, Ronald Shepherd, Jose and Tito Garcia, Geraldine Smith, Velma Samuel and family, Lillian Smith and family, Rose Mary Celestine, John Lynch and family, Bernice Marcelli, Clement, Boo-Boo, the Frenchtown Community, Ly-iseha and family, Icilma and family, Alicia Powell and family, Annette Jennings and family, and the rest of the Turbe, DeSilvia and Simeon families; and great grandchildren too many to mention.
A first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 18, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at St. Ann’s Church in Frenchtown. Burial will be in Western Cemetery No. 1.
