Workshop Aims to Transform Workplace Writing Skills

When it comes to writing, many in the workplace simply wing it. This can result in sloppy grammar, incomprehensible language, poorly structured documents, shoddy research and terrible formatting. To aid individuals in their business writing skills, the University of the Virgin Islands – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center in conjunction with the American Management Association (AMA) will be hosting a two-day workshop designed to improve written communication skills.
“Business Writing and Grammar Skills Made Fun and Easy”will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 22 – 23. The workshop will be held at the UVICELL Center on St. Thomas, and at the Joseph A. Simpson Building, No. 23A Hospital Street in Frederiksted, St. Croix.
Participants will learn how to sharpen their competitive edge through clear, well-focused writing, perfect grammar and usage skills, an avoidance of embarrassing mistakes, polishing documents so they are inviting and easier to read, spotting common usage errors and much more.
For fees or more information on the program, call 693-1100 or visit UVICELL online at http://cell.uvi.edu.
