Jose A. DeLa Cruz Jr. Dead at 28

Jose A. DeLa Cruz Jr., also known as "Chappy" or "Chop Chop," of Queen Street died on Sunday, May 1. He was 28 years old.
He is survived by his daughter, Crystal L. DeLa Cruz; mother, Maria Santiago; grandmother, Gloria Lopez; companion, Chantal Harrigan; sisters: Wanda Vegas, Janet and Joanne Santiago, Mariluz and Maritza DeLa Cruz, and Jos DeLa Cruz Fernandez; and brothers: Rafael Al Monte, Johnny A. Silverio Jr. and Angel M. Melendez Jr.,
He is also survived by nieces: Keishla and Francheska Santos, Bianca Al Monte, Genisis Mejia, Lilian Jimenez, Liliana Santiago, Yanira and Yahaira Hendricksopn, Tiashja A. Heidmann and Geniyah M. Silverio; nephews: Miguel, Luigi and Christopher Mejia, Elizer Donato, Christian and Kevin Soto Jr., Jovante C. Silverio, Corieon Simmiolkjier and Luis Woodrup; uncle, Angel Lopez; special friends: Melissa Felix, Buckie, Hodgie, Stinky, Anna Sackey, Glendalys Felix, Odalys and Yamileth; cousin, Nida Lopez; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, at the Freidensberg Moravian Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
