Clyna Viola James-Derricks Dead at 88

Clyna Viola James-Derricks

Clyna Viola James-Derricks died on St. Thomas at the age of 88. She died at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 4.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Derricks, and her two children, Winston “Candy” Samuel and Sylvia King Brown. She is survived by one brother, Jerome “Jerry” James; brother-in-law, Lemuel Sampson; sisters-in-law: Kathleen James, Sheila James, Adelle Derricks and Evelyn Derricks; daughter-in-law, Gloria Samuel; grand-daughters: Crystal Wyre-Daugherty, Velven Samuel-Warren and Veronica Samuel-Edwards; and grandsons; Dwight, Vaughn, Winston Jr., Arthlyn, Kenrick and Vincent Samuel.
She is also survived by nieces; Norma Cabey, Dorothy James, Beverly Clendenin, Serena James, Coleen James, Cynthia Francis, Geraldine Francis, Pauline Joseph, Francine James, Hazel James-Chin, Valerie Green, Jenelyn and Gwendelyn James; nephews: Eugene Joseph, Lestroy Samuel, Dalma James, Jerry James, Gladstone James, Gerald James, Teddy James, McNeil James, Milton James; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The funeral will take place on Friday, April 15. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. at the Faith Christian Fellowship Church—Alive in Christ, in Hidden Valley. Services will follow immediately at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at the Eastern Cemetery in Smith Bay.
