The Virgin Islands Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) 10th Annual March of Dimes (MOD)March for Babies Walk-A-Thon held on Saturday, March 26, was a success, according to a press release issued April 6 from Maria Thomas-Lewis, V.I. FBLA state advisor. Over 100 FBLA members and community supporters began the 7.4 mile walk at 6 a.m. from the St. Croix Educational Complex grounds and walked along the Queen Mary Highway to the Vincent Mason Resort (Frederiksted Pool) on the west end of St. Croix. Participating walkers gave a $15 donation.
Schools represented were St. Croix Educational Complex, Eudora Kean, Charlotte Amalie and St. Croix Central high schools; Arthur A. Richards, John H. Woodson and Elena L. Christian junior high schools; St. Croix Career & Technical Education Center; Bridges Academy; and Eulalie Rivera and Pearl B. Larsen elementary schools.

Besides March of Dimes, locally the FBLA Walk-A-Thon will benefit the Dorothy S. Walcott Fund,and proceeds will be used to purchase a 24-inch electric range for St. Croix’s Ten Thousand Helpers Inc., which serves free meals to the needy.
