Marcelli Students Celebrate Centennial Birthday of Evelyn Marcelli

The students and staff of Evelyn Marcelli Elementary School will hold a memorial celebration in honor of the 100th birthday of its former principal at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 7, at the campus. “Had Ms. Evelyn Marcelli lived, she would have been 100 years old on March 1, 2011. We thought it was only fitting to pay tribute to this great lady on what would have been her centennial birthday. There will [be] poetry readings, dancing, singing and a special reflection on the life of Ms. Evelyn Marcelli. The community is welcomed to join us,” said Principal Whitman Browne.
Persons interested in participating in the scheduled event are asked to contact Mr. Browne at 774-2966 no later than 1 p.m. on Friday, March 4.
