IHOP St. Croix has announced plans to serve free pancakes as part of the company’s philanthropic National Pancake Day on Tuesday, March 1. Planned as a celebration of friends, family and community, IHOP St. Croix hopes to raise funds for the Queen Louise Home for Children, a Lutheran social services residential program on St. Croix.
Along with over 1,500 U.S. restaurants, IHOP St. Croix invites guests to enjoy a free short stack of IHOP’s signature buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. as part of the sixth annual National Pancake Day, which raises money for local charities. Guests are invited to donate what they would have paid for the free pancakes, or more, to Queen Louise. According to Shauna Bass, the director of Queen Louise Home, they would like to take the children on a summer trip to Disney World, and funds are needed to help pay the travel costs.
"IHOP’s National Pancake Day has become a highly anticipated annual event in U.S. communities, and now the St. Croix store can provide our guests with a fun opportunity to support the efforts of local charities," said Sana Joseph Smith, IHOP St. Croix’s owner and general manager. “We are pleased to enter a partnership with Queen Louise Home, and encourage guests to help them reach their goal.”
Since the inception of its National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised more than $5.35 million to support charities in the communities in which it operates.
