Edwin Balfour Petrus Dead at 76

Edwin Balfour Petrus, also known as "Petrus” or”Pete," of Mt. Pellier died on Jan. 28, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was 76 years old.
He is survived by his spouse, Eulalie V. J. Petrus; daughters: Lorrayne L. D. Reyes-Guirty and Sandra Petrus-Campbell; sons: Andre and Hans Petrus; grandchildren: Erika L. Reyes, Shawon A. Reyes, Kyle C. Reyes, Khefren O. Sackey, Andre-Allen Petrus, Princesse Petrus, Shakinah Gilmore, Bryce Campbell and Quinten Campbell; great-grandchildren: Jaydyn Gilmore and Paytin Dacosta-Bobb; daughters-in-law: Judy Petrus and Karen Petrus; sons-in-law: Errol Guirty and Marvin Campbell; and sisters: Irene Petrus-Mason, Marie Antoinette Petrus and Julia Petrus-Pankey.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Melvina, Lenore and Lorraine Rodgers, Denise Bennerson, Melvin, Marvin and Jeffrey "Jeep" Petrus, Augustin, Mary and Malcolm Mason, George Petrus, Freddie Pankey, James, Roy and Leonard Rogers, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Asta Gaillard and Lucille Cook; brothers-in-law: Walter Pankey, Ernest Meyers, Ignatius Jackson and William Cook; cousins: Benjamin Balfour, Richard "Keba" Petrus, Wayne Petrus and the Doward family; special friends: Rufus and Norma George, the Domino Club family, Phillip, and the boys at Phillip’s Place, Corlina Collins, Carolyn Clendinen, Louis Hughes, Christian Samuel, Joseph "Lagrange" Samuel, Leonard Palmer, George "Pampa" Friday, the Virgin Islands Police Department and the U.S. District Court; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Frederiksted. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery, Veterans Section.
