VIEDA and SBDC Host Workshops for Farmers and Fishermen

The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (SBDC), will be hosting free “Farmers and Fishermen Workshops.” These workshops will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, at the SBDC in Nisky Center, Suite 720 (2nd Floor) on St. Thomas, and on Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the University of the Virgin Islands’ Great Hall on St. Croix.
Topics for these workshops will include discussions on the increase of the maximum lending limit of the Farmers and Fishermen Loan from $17,000 to $50,000 as well as the loan program’s features, eligibility requirements and the technical assistance that are available at the Small Business Development Agency (SBDA) to assist farmers and fishermen in the operation and management of their businesses. Presentations will be made by representatives from the VIEDA’s two lending entities: the SBDA and the Government Development Bank (GDB), and SBDC. Questions and answers will be entertained during the workshops.
