Friends of V.I. Park Annual Meeting Set for Sunday

National Park Foundation President Neil Mulholland will be the featured speaker at Sunday’s Friends of V.I. National Park annual meeting.

“It’s a good way to keep yourself up to date on what’s happened and what’s happening in the park,” Friends program manager Audrey Penn said.

According to Penn, Mulholland will provide insight into what’s happening with parks across the country.

During Sunday’s meeting, Friends President Joe Kessler and Park Superintendent Mark Hardgrove will also give reports on their organization’s activities.

Additionally, those who attend the meeting will have a chance to meet the Friends’ staff, sign up for upcoming Friends seminars, buy tickets to the Friends Feb. 5 gala, purchase raffle tickets, buy Friends’ license plates, and shop at a selection of items from the Friends store.

The annual meeting is also an opportunity to join the Friends group.

The Volunteers of the Year and the Friends Partnership Awards will also be presented.

The meeting will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cinnamon Bay Campground’s T’ree Lizards Restaurant.

Parking is limited at Cinnamon Bay, so a free shuttle service will be provided from the park maintenance area adjacent to Mongoose Junction shopping center in Cruz Bay.

Penn requested that those planning to use the shuttle call the park office so the staff will know how many vehicles are needed. She requested that people arrive for the shuttle from 1:30 to 1:45 p.m.
