UVI-CELL Seeks Licensed Construction Trade Individuals to Become Instructors

The University of the Virgin Islands – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center is actively seeking individuals with experience in the construction field to become certified craft instructors. Individuals must be licensed or have achieved Master Certification in one or more of the construction trades. Teaching experience is preferred but not required to participate in the program. The certification program is free to participants and is being funded by the V.I. Department of Labor.

The goal of the training is to have instructors achieve certification through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Participants selected for the certification training will be expected to serve as instructors for the upcoming Construction Skills and Trades Training program.
The training for instructors will be conducted from 9 a.m. –to 4:30 p.m., July 14-17, at the UVICELL Center on the St. Thomas campus. Space is limited and individuals will be admitted to the program on a first-come, first-serve basis.
