Residents on St. John can learn more about cancer and programs for optimal health and well-being through a forum sponsored by the V.I. Department of Health. It will be hosted by the Department of Health’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, at the Westin St. John Resort and Villas, according to a press release from DOH.
Residents can pre-register by calling 773-1311, ext. 3158 or 3131. On-site registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the forum.
“I am pleased that the forum is being offered on St. John as part of ongoing efforts to bring healthcare back to the community,” Commissioner Julia Sheen said. “I encourage residents to come and learn more about the disease from our noted panelists.”
Doctors Samuel Hughes, Edith Ramsey-Johnson and Bert Petersen will serve as panelists along with Gail-Ann Guy-Felix, Ronnie Jones and Jewel Harrigan.
Sheen said that CMEs and CEUs will be offered to participants.
Lunch will be served and transportation will be provided to and from the Westin from the Cruz Bay Dock at the following times:
- Pick-up from Cruz Bay Dock – 8:20; 9:20 and 10:20 a.m.
- Drop-off to Cruz Bay Dock – 12:45; 1:45 and 2:30 p.m.
