Woman Arrested for Domestic Violence

Domestic-violence detectives on St. Croix arrested 25-year-old Yaritza Ramos and charged her with first-degree assault, domestic violence.

Police said Ramos stabbed her boyfriend in the chest with a knife at about 3:20 p.m. Saturday at the David Hamilton Jackson housing community in Christiansted. The victim was stabbed in his upper body and was taken by ambulance to the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment where he remains in stable condition.

Ramos originally fled the scene of the stabbing but was apprehended and arrested by police at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday. Ramos is being held without bail due to the domestic violence charges.
