Madiana Lucia Aska Dead at 82

Madiana Lucia Aska Madiana Lucia Aska, also known as “May,” of Mutual Homes, Grove Place, died on June 11, at her residence. She was 82 years old.

She is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Richards-Ambrose and Clarice Williams-Blake; sister, Muriel Barthley; grandchildren: Kishan E. Gumbs, Wenthworth G. Blake, Krista and David Liburd, Kendel and Marva Blake Sr., Kenneth L. and Juawanta Blake Jr., Gary Ambrose, Delarie and Kevin Lettsome, Carol and Christopher Butler, Steve and Lisa Ambrose, Troy, Evette, Kareem, Kinisha Ambrose and Walter Jr. Ambrose; and great-grandchildren: Kenneth L. III, Kaynnysha, Kennika, Kyauna, Kynia, Kendel Jr., Shaneska, Shanice, Rashawn and Javione Blake, David Jr. and Symphoni Liburd, Kyle and Antoine Twany Merrick, Chyenne and Joel JoJo Lettsome, Briyanna and Aniyah Butler, Steve Jr., Tyrique, Shanice, Troy and Zillah Ambrose and Azealeh Ambrose-Wilson. Other survivors include sons-in-law: Kenneth Lord Blakie Blake Sr. and Walter Ambrose Sr.; adopted daughters: Leatrice James, Marla Matthew and Enid Melchoir; special friends: Pauline Jones, Julia Bannis and Sister Annella Cummings; cousins and other relatives: Lincoln, Charles, Nel, Desmond, Venerine Reina and Peggy Knight (England); Nell and Elridge Baltimore, Paula Blake, Brother LaPointe, Dr. Kendall Griffith, Dr. Robert Thompson, Hyacinth Charles and family, Mr. and Mrs. Prevost and family, neighbors: Carol, Martin, Andy, Gloria, Sister Mary and family, the Hector family, the Bannis family; the Barthley, Brudy and Thomas families of Freetown, Antigua; the Antigua and Barbuda Association, 4-H Club, Calvary Baptist Church family, Mutual Home Management and Foster Grandparents Unit; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
