Education Announces Spelling Bee Competitions

The 2010 spelling bee season has arrived and the Virgin Islands Department of Education announces the following schedule of competitions:

Friday, Feb. 19
St. Thomas-St. John District Intermediate Spelling Bee will be held at 9 a.m., at the Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School Auditorium. Participating students and Spelling Bee officials are asked to report at 8 a.m. All participating spellers are reminded to wear their full school uniforms.
St. Croix District Intermediate Spelling Bee will be held at 9 a.m., at the John Woodson Junior High School Auditorium. Participating students and spelling bee officials are asked to report at 8 a.m. All participating spellers are reminded to wear their full school uniforms.
Friday, March 5
The territory’s top 12 spellers will compete for the 2010 Spelling Bee Championship scheduled for 10 a.m., at thePalms Court Harborview Hotel on St. Thomas.
