Upcoming Events at Creque Dam Farm Are Scheduled for February

Sunday Fermentation Workshop with author Sandor Katz will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 14. (an Ag Fair field trip). Some farm-to-fork culinary arts this month with world renowned foodist and author Sandor Katz (Wild Fermentation,The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved). Learn from the master of fermentation and take it home to show off your new culinary skills. There is a $45-$70 sliding scale or $100 combo deal with a special Creque Slow Down Experience dinner to follow. E-mail Rebecca@visfi.org to register while there are still spaces.

Art of Mentoring with author Jon Young (Feb 22-28, open pot-luck night Feb 26, open Peacemaker Story with dinner Feb. 27). With master tracker and storyteller Jon Young as well as Mark Morey and Evan McGown, a transformational experience designed to help us to step into the roles of a vibrant community. Come all week for the campout or visit during two open weekend nights at VISFI all about mentoring with very inspiring speakers and skill-building interactions with nature and each other. Bush Skills Caribbean Rendezvous (Feb. 4-7)
Four straight days of bush skills from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily: Thursday learn primitive skills; Friday is herbalism, tracking and nature awareness; Saturday covers hunting, gathering and the ways of the semi agriculturalist; Sunday is the ever-popular bush cookout and feast all day (ever tried mongoose?), which features the deep skill sharing by Veronica Gordon, Tony the Palm Weaver, Russell Cutts, Snow Bear and many more. Choose from a list of morning and afternoon workshops each day, lunch included.
