Two Arrested in Early Morning Police Raid Sunday

Two men from Estate Contant were arrested Sunday on St. Thomas, one on gun charges and one on drug charges, after police executed a search warrant in an early morning raid.

At 6 a.m. Sunday police executed a search warrant issued by V.I. Superior Court for an Estate Contant address. The search yielded enough material for the two arrests, according to a VIPD news release.

Joshua Rojas, 20, was arrested and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm with an obliterated serial number. Police say he had a loaded .25 caliber “Lorcin.” Rojas was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Also arrested was Frankie Thomas, 45, also of Contant. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Police say Thomas was found in possession of 43 small plastic bags of marijuana, one larger bag of marijuana, 11 small bags of cocaine, 16 small bags of crack cocaine and a quantity of unidentified pills, which will be sent to a lab for testing.

Thomas was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections after he was unable to post the $10,000 bail.
