The University of the Virgin Islands is preparing for the inauguration of UVI’s fifth president, Dr. David Hall, on March 6.
Dr. Hall began his term of office as president of UVI on Aug. 1, 2009. With a distinguished career as an educational administrator, Hall is also recognized as a preeminent scholar in the field of law. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University, a juris doctorate and a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, and an LL.M. degree and doctorate of juridicial science from Harvard Law School. Members of the UVI faculty and professional staff who wish to march in the installation ceremony processional are urged to order regalia from the St. Thomas campus bookstore (693-1560) prior to the Feb. 18 deadline. Regalia shipped for the ceremony may be retained for use during commencement. In recognition of the Inauguration of David Hall, a number of public and VIP events are scheduled. Among them are:
