
Myrtle Swanston-Otto of Golden Rock died on Jan. 24. She was 65 years old.
She is survived by her spouse, Chesney Otto; adopted mother, Claris Saunders; daughter, Diane Otto-Harris; adopted daughter, Gladys Weeks; son, Lachesnaye Otto; grandchildren: Lakeisha Otto, Devor Hart, Lachesnaye Otto Jr., Helen Otto, Halvor Hart IV, Diamyrian Harris and Aniyan Cofeel; and son-in-law, Paul Harris. She is also survived by sisters: Anita Peter, Pamela, Carol and Sonia Powell; brothers: Sydney Powell and Clive Powell; adopted brothers: Gregory, Arthur and Richard Hunning; sisters-in-law: Manatta Maynard, Olivia Thomas, Nella and Stell Otto, and Miranda Chapman; brother-in-law, Buford Otto; nieces: Mercia Weaver, Sonia Maynard-John, Jackie Thomas-Eastman, Brenda Abbott, Dorette Maynard, Lil Abbott and Lilly Walters; and nephews: Tony, Pat, Elvis and Wingrove Thomas, James, Myron and Edson Maynard, Raymond Walters, Melvin Norford and Cecil Walters. Other survivors include Aunt Edith; special cousins: William Stephens and Jason Otto; very special friends: the Grant family; special friends: Sylvia William, Mrs. Thomas and family, Erma James, Bascombe Charlene, Marilyn Charles, the Chapman family, the Francis family, the Levine family, Cecil Smith, the Sargeant family, Edward Griffin, Ms. Sullivan, the Gentle Winds family and the Swanston family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Ebenezer Methodist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery. The family requests that mourners wear festive colors.
