Man Shot to Death near Kirwan Terrace

A man was found shot dead near the pump house at Kirwan Terrance Saturday night, according to police.

At approximately 7:37 p.m. a call came into the 911 center reporting shots fired in the area. Simultaneously, police patrolling nearby heard the shots and found the unnamed individual who had been shot at least once, according to a release from Police Public Information Officer Melody Rames.

Emergency Medical Technicians at the scene found no vital signs when examining the victim, whose identity was not released Sunday night pending notification of next of kin. The victim was determined to be 30 years of age, the release said.

District Police Chief Rodney. F. Querrard Sr. said the victim may have been with a group of people when he was shot. Querrard is appealing to witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting to call the anonymous Crime Stoppers tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), 911, or Sergeant Lionel Bess of the Major Crimes Bureau at 340-642-8449.

The killing is the third homicide in the territory since the start of the new year, the first on St. Thomas.
