Man Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident Sunday

Pierre Fenton, 36, of Estate Diamond Ruby was arrested and charged with negligent homicide after a Sunday traffic accident that left one woman dead.
Anna Rodriguez, 47, of Mutual Homes housing community, was killed in the accident, according to a statement from the V.I. Police Department.
Police were advised of the accident by 911 dispatchers at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday. The initial investigation showed that a Ford Focus with two occupants was traveling north, and a Ford Courier pickup with two occupants was traveling south on Northside Road in the vicinity of the La Reine Shopping Center.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, the Ford Focus, crossed over to the opposite lane causing a head-on collision with the southbound pickup.
Rodriguez died of injuries at the scene. The other occupants of the vehicles were taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Fenton was arrested following his treatment at the hospital and held without bail pending further court action. The St. Croix Traffic Investigation Bureau is continuing to investigate into the accident.
