Police Seek Driver in Fatal Hit and Run

Police on St. Croix are investigating a hit and run accident that killed a pedestrian at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Police said 52-year old Livingston Grouby was walking along the South Shore Road in the vicinity of the polo grounds when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop or call for emergency medical assistance. Sometime later another motorist traveling that road saw Grouby on the road and called 911.
Police ask anyone who knows anything about this accident to call the Traffic Investigation Bureau at 778-9757, 911, or the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Police are urge anyone who notices a vehicle with recent damage to the front end to call the police. Body mechanics should be aware when repairing vehicles with recent front end damage.
