WAPA Implements Penalty Fee for Late Water Bill Payments

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority informs its water customers that effective Oct. 1, 2009, a monthly fee of 1-1/4 percent will be applied to outstanding balances after the payment due date indicated on the billing statement. As with all electric accounts, unpaid water bills will become delinquent 20 days after the issuing date. Service will be disconnected 10 days later if payment is not received in full.

To avoid late fee penalties and service disconnections, customers are urged to pay monthly bills before the due date. Payments may be paid online at www.viwapa.vi; by mail, at WAPA’s business offices; or at most local banks.
Any questions regarding water late payment fees can be directed to the customer service departments on St. Croix at 773-2250, St. Thomas at 774-3552, or on St. John at 776-6446.
