Bacilisa Rios Jacobs, also known as “Dunda,” of Estate Constitution Hill died on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center. She was the proprietor of the Orchid Garden Plant Nursery.
She is survived by her sister, Ramona Rios Santos; brother, Pascual Rios; children: PalmiraThurland, Norma LeBron, Ira Jacobs Jr., Zoraida, Rodolfo and Hector Jacobs and Sonia Dow; sister-in-law, Agnes Jacobs; daughters-in-law, Delita, Laurie and Jackie Jacobs; sons-in-law, Herman LeBron Sr., and Michael Dow Sr.; and grandchildren, Gotfred Thurland Jr., Lourdes Velasquez Lanore, Herman LeBron, Yvette Sawler, Gabriel LeBron, Ife, Isoke, Layla and Ijahna Jacobs, Ashanya Brown, Kareen, Naya, Randall, Chantelle, Rodolfo II, Edwin, Quianna, d’Neicia and Michael Jacobs, and Michael Dow Jr.; and a host of family members and friends.
There will be a Myron G. Danielson Auxiliary – Unit 85 service at 8 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, at the American Legion Hall, Hospital Street, Christiansted. Viewing and tributes will be held at 9:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Christiansted Cemetery.
