Crime Stoppers Needs Your Help

Crime Stoppers is asking the community to help the VIPD solve the following crimes, and reminds everyone that any information, no matter how insignificant, may be just what the police need to solve these cases:

  • St. Croix: The Virgin Islands Department of Justice (VIDOJ) is requesting the community’s assistance in locating a “person of interest” who may have information regarding a criminal investigation. A photo of this person is available at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org . A reward of $1,000 will be paid by Crime Stoppers to the first person whose information results in VIDOJ successfully locating this person.
  • St. John: Police are asking the community for information leading to the arrest of any individual or business taking advantage of the elderly by defrauding them of money, personal property, physical health, or any scheme that leads them to pay excessive amounts for construction projects, etc.
  • St. Thomas: Police are asking for assistance in apprehending a Ten Most Wanted fugitive, Johverne Meyers who has been seen in various communities during the past several days. If you see this individual, who is approximately 25 years of age, with a close cropped haircut, dark complexion, and weighing approximately 175 pounds; call Crime Stoppers. Do not try to apprehend this fugitive as he is armed and dangerous. A photo of Meyers is available at www.vipd.gov.vi/crime/wanted.aspx.

Community members can submit tips to Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The tips are completely anonymous, and stateside operators are bilingual. Tipsters can also submit tips online at CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by texting "USVI" plus your message to CRIMES (274637). If a tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property or illegal drugs, the tipster receives a cash reward to be paid according to their instructions. Only anonymous callers to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.
