Emile Stephen Daniel Dies at 91

Emile Stephen Daniel, also known as “Shoeses,” of King Street, Frederiksted, died on July 18, at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was 91 years old.
He survived by his companion, Miriam Phillips; daughters: Sheryl B. Daniel John and Lydia L. Daniel; sons: Leroy, Emile A., Keith D. , Bertrand A. and Everton A. Daniel; grandchildren: Christine F. Daniel, Jamel J. Price, Carlene T. Hodge, Iasia N. John, Waleeda Daniel, Christina Ellis, Charissma Anderson, Monica Francis, Gasper Francis Jr., Leroy L. Daniel Jr., Dwayne E. Daniel, Lauren Daniel and Lorenzo Daniel; great-grandchildren: Timothy Nicholsen, Nathaniel Wilson, Chrissanni A. James, Jamel J. Price Jr., Jahlil Price, Dynasty Price, Jabaar E. MacTavious, Jabrise E. MacTavious, Junique N. Hodge, Jaraea R. Richardson, Jamaar J. Arthur, Jamoi E. Arthur, Hassan Spencer & Adae’ Spencer; and great great-grandchildren: Caleea I. James and Calisha N. Chamberlin; daughters-in-law; Geraldine Daniel and Ruth N. Daniel; special friends: Yvonne Samuel, Kenneth Herman, Allen Canton, Cecela Harrigan, Ruby Amey, Senator Usie Richards, Muriel Simmonds, Desiree Allen, Yvette Gordon, Alva Clarke, Lorna Benjamin, Kathleen Rhymer, Emelda Thomas, Daphne Christian, Corrine Anderson and Irose Spooner; cousin, Claudette Vanterpool; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m., on Friday, July 31, at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Frederiksted Cemetery.
