District Prepares for Summer Enrichment Program

June 19, 2009 – The Learn-It Summer Enrichment Program will commence on Monday, June 22 and finish on July 30. The program, which is expected to service a maximum capacity of 1600 public school students, has been consolidated into three sites on St. Croix: the Charles H. Emanuel, Juanita Gardine and Claude O. Markoe Elementary Schools, according to a press release from St. Croix District Superintendent Gary Molloy.
“The Abramson Bus Company will be providing transportation to and from the program. Participating students residing at estates in the east will go to Juanita Gardine; those at the estates in the mid-island will go to Charles Emanuel; and those from the estates in the west will go to Claude O. Markoe. Students will also receive meals via the federal Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which will provide lunch and a snack for all participants,” Molloy said.
For more information, contact the child’s school or the Office of the Superintendent at 773-1095.
