District Runs Summer Food Service Program

June 16, 2009 – The St. Thomas-St. John District School Lunch Program will run the 2009 Summer Food Service Program from Monday, June 22 through Friday, Aug. 7, according to a press release from the V.I. Department of Education. Meals will be provided to all eligible children up to the age of 18, free of charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all persons regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
Elva Richards-Huggins, director of the school lunch program said, “Two meals will be provided daily to include breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the following sites: Gladys Abraham Elementary, Joseph Gomez Elementary, Lockhart Elementary and Julius Sprauve Elementary Schools Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School, Addelita Cancryn Junior High School, and the Charlotte Amalie High and Ivanna Eudora Kean High Schools.”
