Gladys A. Abraham School Art Students Awarded for Creative Excellence

June 4, 2009 — For Carnival 2009, McDonald’s asked the students in Julie Armbruster’s art classes at Gladys A. Abraham School to illustrate their images of Carnival. From the many colorful depictions of carnival culture, McDonald’s showcased the artwork of 13 students at the McDonald’s Lockhart Gardens restaurant location during the week of Carnival.
On Monday and Tuesday, June 2 and 3 at the school’s annual awards day, 13 students whose artwork was chosen received a personalized thank you letter and $20 in cash. “It was an honor to share this wonderful artwork with the community," McDonald’s, St. Thomas Regional Manager, Sandra Hardy said. "McDonald’s is always happy to support youth arts programs, as art allows children to explore their vivid imaginations and express their creativity.” A donation was also made to the school’s art department for supplies.
