Taxes and Discrimination

Dear Source:
Are the "native Virgin Islanders" trying to pass a constitution that will exempt the "local" property owners from paying property taxes? Will they then, if passed, create a grandfather clause to excuse all those owners that have not paid taxes? That way they will never have the properties taken for lack of payment.
In the same token we continentals will have to start paying our taxes in Continental U.S. and not here. Why pay taxes to a territory that is trying to create discrimination. I spend more time away from St. Croix than anywhere else. I will have to start filing in Illinois where I am not discriminated. Never mind that I have called this islands my home since 1968 while I was in Viet Nam defending the constitution of the United States of America which the Virgin Islands is part of.
