Memorial Service to Be Held for Robert Randall Dixson

June 1, 2009 – Robert Randall Dixson, known as "Randy," died on May 24, at his home on St. Croix.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Dixson; three children: Tamara, Clay and Ryan; parents: Robert and Beverly Dixson; brother, David; four grandchildren: Christina, Craig, Nick and Michael, son-in-law, Rusty; sister-in-law, Janet; nephews: Michael and David; and countless friends. His niece Sarah preceded him in death.
Randy was a decorated, retired Detroit, Michigan, police officer. He fell in love with St. Croix and considered it paradise. After moving to St. Croix in 2000, he never left the island again. He played and worked on all four corners of St. Croix, leaving his love and laughter wherever he went.
Randy's wish was to be buried at sea. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday June 3, on Frederiksted Pier, followed by a celebration of Randy's life at Sunset Grill.
Randy was deeply concerned for the many abandoned dogs and cats on St. Croix. Remembrances can be sent to the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center, his favorite charity, at RR2 No. 32 Clifton Hill, Kingshill, St. Croix 00850, Attn. Gretchen Sherrill. No flowers, please.
