Philip George Thomas Dies at 70

May 30, 2009 – Philip George Thomas, known as George Thomas, of 7th Street Estate Thomas, died, age 70, on May 22, at Schneider Regional Medical Center.
He was a former employee of Emerald Beach Hotel. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Ann Brooks of the Salvation Army.
He is survived by his son, George Thomas Jr.; daughters: Lauren Thomas-Francis and Natalie Thomas Pickering; brother, Jonathan Thomas; sister, Catherine May Williams, and grandchildren: Aaliyah Francis, Kahlil Francis, Cameron Francis, Shanniqua Thomas, Giovanni Thomas and Quoi Pickering. He is also survived by special nephew, Cutey Williams; sons-in-law: Mark W. A. Francis and Liston Pickering; as well as many other relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will take place from 9-10 a.m., and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Thursday, June 4, at Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at Eastern Cemetery.
