Elmo Plaskett East Little League Weekend Results

May 4, 2009 — There were three games contested on Saturday and two on Sunday in the Elmo Plaskett East Little League. On Saturday the Suns, Lil Yankees and Reds were the winners, and on Sunday the Lil Yankees and the Reds claimed victories.
Saturday: 7-9 division
Suns 7, Lil Alphas 6
In game one on Saturday, the Suns edged the Lil Alphas 7-6. It was the Suns with seven runs on two hits and three errors, while the Lil Alphas had six runs on two hits and four errors. The winning pitcher was Marquis Sexius, with Marcelino Rivera getting the loss for the Lil Alphas. Top hitters for the Suns were Kimoi Ferdinand and Akido Lindquist, who both went 1 for 1 with an RBI apiece. For the Lil Alphas, Emanuel Rodriguez went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and Queemoy Boyce went 1 for 2 with one RBI.
Lil Yankees 14, Lil Angels 8
In game two on Saturday the Lil Yankees got a good pitching performance from Alejandro Guzman as they walloped the Lil Angels 14-8. It was the Lil Yankees with 14 runs on 12 hits and two errors, while the Lil Angels finished with eight runs on four hits and five errors. Ajani Wathey got the loss for the Lil Angels. Top batters for the Lil Yankees were Guzman, 2 for 3 with three RBIs, and Christian Rasmussen, 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs. For the Lil Angels, Ray Petersen went 1 for 2 with one RBI.
Pee Wee: Reds 3, Lil Angels 2
In Saturday's nightcap, the Reds nipped the Lil Angels 3-2 in a game contested in the Pee Wee division. It was the Reds with three runs on two hits and two errors while the Lil Angels finished with two runs on one hit and four errors. Top batters for the Reds were Slade Zeppuhar, 2 for 2 with two RBIs, and Jared Doran, 2 for 2 with one RBI. For the Lil Angels, Keanu Trotman and Aiden Deal both went 1 for 2 with one RBI apiece.
Sunday
Lil Yankees 14, Suns 3
The Lil Yankees had their second 14-run outburst of the weekend when they blasted the Suns 14-3 on Sunday in a 7-9 division contest. It was the Lil Yankees with 14 runs on seven hits and three errors, while the Suns finished with three runs on four hits and four errors. Devante Brooks got the win on the hill for the Lil Yankees and Akido Lindquist got the loss. Top batters for the Yankees were Brooks, 2 for 2 with a home run and four RBIs, and Aldemar Santos, 1 for 2 with a home run and four RBIs. For the Suns, Lindquist went 2 for 2 with one RBI, and Juan Aponte went 1 for 2 with one RBI.
10-12 Division: Reds 12, Yankees 1
In game two on Sunday the Reds blasted the Yankees 12-1 behind a strong two-hit pitching effort from Jackson Reidlinger. It was the Reds with 12 runs on 12 hits and two errors, while the Yankees finished with one run on two hits and five errors. Che Smith got the loss for the Yankees. Top batters for the Reds were Steven Rodriguez, 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs, and Reidlinger, 2 for 3 with three RBIs. For the Yankees, Smith went 2 for 2 with one RBI.
