PSC Conducts Evidentiary Hearing on Island Wind Power Inc.

May 2, 2009 – The Virgin Islands Public Services Commission will conduct an evidentiary hearing on the application for interconnection of Island Wind Power Inc. (formerly Earth, Wind and Power Inc.) with the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority. It will take place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, in the PSC Conference Room, at Barbel Plaza, St. Thomas. If necessary, the meeting will continue at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, May 13, according to a press release from the PSC.
The commission is by law charged with the responsibility of regulating the sales and purchases between small power qualifying facilities and electrical utilities.
Persons wishing to offer comments on this matter should submit them in writing in advance of the hearing to Michael Moore, PSC legal assistant, at msmoore@psc.gov.vi or via fax to 774-4971. All submitted comments will be provided to the parties and the hearing examiner. Time may be allotted for the public to offer comments during the hearing at the discretion of the hearing examiner.
